This is the beautiful story of locked-in syndrome sufferer Kerry Pink, whose hunger for life helped her overcome her condition despite the opinion of doctors that she would never recover. Kerry speaks about how her family’s love kept her going through five years of almost complete paralysis. Although she will always need a wheelchair, Kerry’s story is a powerful reminder of how strong the will to live can be. As in the case of Kevin Rudd, whom she quotes, none of us can ever really know how we would feel if placed in the same position and therefore any decisions made about treatment in advance are highly dangerous.
