Blitz on abortion clinics absolutely justified – Lansley has our full support

The decision by the Health Secretary, Andrew Lansley, to investigate abortion clinics urgently following the devastating Daily Telegraph revelations about potential criminal practice, was more than justified and it is total humbug for abortion supporters to criticise his prompt intervention.

Care Quality Commission inspectors visited nearly 300 abortion providers in 3 days and found 50 were breaking the law or regulations.  The inspections were clearly justified and if any public money has been wasted it is through the illegal activities of abortion clinics.

Where else in the NHS if there was compelling evidence of significant abuse of the law would we condemn a prompt response, particularly in such a sensitive area where one of the patients (the unborn child) is likely to be killed unlawfully as a result?
