Baby Charlie Gard: Statement

We have been asked frequently in the last weeks to comment on the UK and European legal judgements involving the treatment of Baby Charlie Gard.

The ethical issues involved are extremely complex but it has to be acknowledged unequivocally that all those who have been involved in commenting or intervening in any way wish what is best for this very sick baby.

Given the huge complexities of this case we would like to refer you to the statement made by the UK-based Anscombe Bioethics Centre, who are better placed than us to analysis the difficult issues at stake.
