Last night’s radio 4 documentary, The Stem Cell Swindle, reported on an investigation into the Kiev clinic trading in stem cells taken from babies aborted to order. Journalist, Matthew Hill travelled to the Ukraine and traced the route through the United Kingdom to some of the most luxurious clinics where they are used in beauty and stem cell treatments in the Caribbean.

‘This must be the most abhorrent and sickening abuse of human life,’ said Julia Millington of the ProLife Alliance. ‘Sacrificing tiny human lives to temporarily reverse the effects of the aging process is beyond belief. However, whatever the purpose of the sacrifice, it should not be taking place. There is no such thing as a good use of fetal tissue.

‘A world that will allow babies to be killed to order to harvest its constituent parts will permit anything.

‘And the ethical violations go beyond the destruction and dissection of the aborted baby. One young mother, whose story was particularly harrowing, gave an account of her baby being taken at birth without her consent. She believes that her baby was sold for use in stem cell therapies.

‘How can anyone justify such barbaric and ghastly practices?’
