My son, Will, was born in 1998 at 22 weeks 3 days. I understand that he is Britain’s earliest surviving baby. Will wasn’t treated for a long time because of his gestation. I held him in the delivery suite for 7 hours with no intervention as we waited for him to die. The hospital took him down to the Special Care Baby Unit at 7 hours old. But...
