Abortion Bill in Ireland soundly defeated – congratulations to our pro-life colleagues for a very successful campaign

The Irish parliament, Dáil Éireann, voted by 111 to 20 to defeat a pro-abortion bill which would have legalized abortion in Ireland and also sent pro-life protesters to jail. This vote reflects the poll carried out on the Irish public in advance of the debate.

It is notable that supporters of the bill cited misleading research in support of legalising abortion, completely contradicting the fact that Ireland has one of the lowest maternal mortality rates in the world.
