Artificial Womb Update

You will have followed the interesting coverage last week of the development at the US Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia of a so-called artificial womb.

Here is a link to a video talking through this innovative research, which is currently being applied to premature lambs and not the human baby, but it is intended long-term to help babies born prematurely at around 22-23 weeks of gestation to reach a later stage of gestation when independent survival would be considered possible.
