Official Launch of the Pregnancy Crisis Helpline

On April 27th, 1968, six months after the passing of the 1967 Abortion Act, abortions began to take place in Britain under the new abortion law. Every single abortion that has taken place in Britain has deprived an absolutely unique baby girl or baby boy of the right to life, and impacted the lives of the women themselves and the fathers, as well as other family members.

As part of our practical response to the deeply disturbing 50-year aftermath of the 1967 Abortion Act, we have been researching local sources of practical help and contacts as a back-up to the new Pregnancy Crisis Helpline.  Those answering the Helpline have access to these many local resources and will be able to direct callers to the closest source of help.

The Helpline initiative itself was launched a week ago and calls started reaching us almost immediately.  We have been able to either help directly or signpost callers towards appropriate pro-life support in their specific area, thanks to this backup directory  which has been researched and pulled together over the past 18 months.  The Directory itself is not available online but is available to those answering the Helpline.

It is our hope in this tragic Anniversary Year that this initiative which brings together and identifies pro-life centres and sources of help across the UK will be of great use to all those involved in pro-life initiatives.

The Pregnancy Crisis Helpline will be a continuing work in progress and we welcome offers of hands-on help as well as indications of local support we may not as yet have identified.
